Perfect business: Technopreneurship in Moscow

Zelenograd Nanotechnology Center (ZNTC) and National Research University of Electronic Technology (MIET) opened a Studio for technopreneurship. According to Gennady Degtev, the General Director of Special economic zone Technopolis Moscow, that was one more step towards the special environment for supporting and developing tech business.

“It is the first studio for schoolchildren, students and young entrepreneurs working at Technopolis Moscow. When taking part in the project all inventors will know how to commercialize innovations and work with startups. In general, the studio will bring together science and industry, which means the introduction of new technologies," - said Gennady Degtev.

He also noted that more than 40 innovative companies were concentrated on the four Zelenograd sites of Moscow SEZ, many of its managers and employees started their career at MIET, and over the past 5 years, with the active support of ZNTC, they had formed the ecosystem of technopreneurship.

Anatoly Kovalev, the General Director of ZNTC, said: “We’ve developed and tested a course on technopreneurship for students, held a number of innovative contests to support start-ups and implemented some popular science events. Since 2021 there has existed an educational course for school children, as well as a professional development program “Technopreneurship”. We hope that the created studio will help us to implement the "school children - student - startup" development trajectory and will increase the number of innovative ideas embodied in real technological solutions”.

To develop innovative and entrepreneurial activities at MIET there were five programs and courses, said Dmitry Ogorodov, the head of Technopreneurship Studio.

“The studio will unite our existing projects: StartUp Kitchen, StartUp Pizza, Preaccelerator, Science Slam and School of Technopreneurship, where more than 30 innovative projects have already been worked out just in 2021. The young generation will have the opportunity not only to improve their entrepreneurial skills, but also to take introductory courses at factories and enterprises,” noted Dmitry Ogorodov. He added that this year more than 1,500 people attended all university events on technopreneurship.
